You know how, sometimes, you can walk into a room and feel the energy shift the moment you step inside? On March 12, Cronix brought together an incredible group of women for a special dinner in New York City.
Sponsored by Cronix’s own Amandeep Singh (Founder) and organized by Cassandra Cross (Director of Partnerships) with Nicole Harvey (founder of empowHER Commerce), the evening brought together a roomful of women from every corner of the professional world.
Together, Cassandra and Nicole hosted nonprofit founders, engineers, budding entrepreneurs, and eCommerce veterans at a gathering marking a celebratory moment – the successful completion of the first season of Cassandra’s podcast, How She Got Here, a podcast shining a spotlight on the paths and stories of women making waves in ecommerce and tech.
Community and Collaboration
What set this event apart was the genuine sense of community buzzing through every conversation. Laughter, personal stories, and real talk about life and careers flowed as freely as wine and the delicious dinner courses.
Italian Wine Merchants, the venue, had a curated menu showcasing Italy’s finest dishes and wine. Podcast guests from seasons 1 and 2 graced the event and forged valuable new friendships with women committed to supporting other women.
Each person shared stories of facing obstacles, celebrating wins, learning, and unlearning along the way, all while being ready to support one another.
Closing the Gender Gap
The World Economic Forum estimates it could take another five generations for us to achieve global gender parity if we continue at the current pace. That statistic is sobering, but initiatives like How She Got Here and the work of organizations such as empowHER Commerce is aiming to speed up that timeline.
Both Cassandra and Nicole are on a mission to close that gap in their lifetimes by empowering women in tangible ways. This includes offering mentorship, networking opportunities, practical tools, and a stage to hear women’s inspiring stories!
